Give us a summary of the key personality’s life before and after their entry into the e-commerce space. 

Gaurav Nikam (Founder-CEO):
What would you give up to see your dreams come true? What would you put at stake for a vision? A lot of people would forsake a lot of things, but how about a whole future complete with a stellar career that would set you up for life, would you give that up? Not many would have the daring or the self-belief to be able to do that.

That is, however, exactly what the young entrepreneur Gaurav Nikam did, he left his job to set up Digipeddle Technologies.

The brainchild behind Digipeddle Technologies is a passionate entrepreneur from Satara city. Born and brought up in a farmer family in a small village of Satara. Gaurav has 6+ years of professional experience. A sales professional with a demonstrated history of working in the information technology and services industry. He is a Strong Digital Marketing and business development professional, skilled in Account Management, Solution Selling, Presales and Project Management.

He is a Computer Science Engineer with a Master’s in Business Administration (Marketing Management) from Vishwakarma Institute, Pune. He started his career with Tech Mahindra as an Intern. Due to his hunger to learn the business and to get a 360-degree view he decided to work with start-ups.

He started Digipeddle Technologies in 2018 with some small clients. Digipeddle Technologies has gained a good reputation in western Maharashtra and currently serving businesses across the globe. Today some of our key customers are Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd, Ashok Leyland, Kubota Tractors etc.

Meet the cook! Atul is passionate techie, a pure talent with silence, with 6+ years of experience. His entrepreneurial spirit made him leave his job at reputed software company in Pune three years ago. He has handled several development projects in his professional journey and has expertise in Woocommerce, WordPress, ASP.NET MVC with AngularJS.

He has completed his MSc Computer Science from College of Computer Science, Pune. He enjoys being challenged with projects that requires him out of his comfort zone. He is a continuous learner. What kind of challenges has the company and its team faced industry wise?

In the initial phase, we struggled with several challenges like getting the skilled human resource, scaling up: increase our serving capacity while maintaining our delivery quality. However, we got the right team, books, podcasts, and mentors who showed us the way.

Improving the operation and scaling up is another challenge faced by all small service business owners – how to continually improve and develop their processes and products, ensure that the outcomes are real improvements and that there is a culture that is supportive of service and change.  An important challenge in this area is managing the increased complexity resulting from change. Change requests from customers are inevitable.

How have technological advancements and innovation in the industry impacted/enhanced the business of the company?

Technological advancements have had a huge impact on the e-commerce world, transforming the way consumers connect with brands and empowering them to shop more effectively. Driven by the convenience of getting products delivered at home, e-commerce has now become an integral part of everyday life.

Implementation of Big data, VR/AR guidance, AI and chat bots into ecommerce has made big impact on profits now a days.

What are your strategically driven plans to be implemented in-order to scale the business in 2021?

The lockdown due to the pandemic is a turning point for e-commerce in India, pushing demand to record highs, nudging new buyers as well as sellers onto digital platforms, and holding out the promise of lasting growth for players.

The Indian e-commerce market has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of the pandemic; millions of buyers are feeling more comfortable while shopping online.

So, we believe this is a good opportunity for e-commerce service providers and businesses to go digital.

What advice would you like to give to young entrepreneurs and budding professionals who want to step into the leadership positions at their respective workplaces?

There is so much to be done, just go out and do it. Things will never be perfect, so make the jump, keeping doing, experience is the best teacher. You will make mistakes, but in the end you will be better than what you were earlier.

What does the future look like for the company in terms of growth and expansion?

We are an ambitious company, 200% YOY growth rate is what we are aiming for. We aim to generate employment opportunities for ambitious young Indians. We are also looking forward to expansion in new territories overseas. Digipeddle Technologies is ready to step into the international market and has already taken a step. Digipeddle Technologies will be a global company soon.

What is the current industry scenario of the Indian e-commerce space?

Indian e-Commerce Industry is showing rapid growth and will surpass US to become second largest e-commerce marketplace by 2030. Grocery and Apparel Businesses are key drivers of this rapid and exponential growth. According to Forrester Research, Indian e-commerce sales rose by ~7-8% in 2020. The Indian online grocery market is estimated to reach US$ 18.2 billion in 2024 from US $1.9 billion in 2019, expanding at a CAGR of 57%.
