Adv Ramesh, as a trailblazer in the legal world, could you take us back to the beginning of your journey? What motivated you to step into this field?
In the early chapters of my journey, I commenced as a journalist, laying the foundation for my illustrious career. Through dedication and arduous labour, particularly in the realm of Criminal and Litigation law, I ascended the ranks, carving a distinctive niche with integrity and diligence. Armed with a Master’s in Arts and Journalism, complemented by a Master’s in Law, I ventured from the precincts of Pratapgad, Uttar Pradesh, to Mumbai in 2000. Initially, I plied my trade in journalism at esteemed publications such as Dophar Ka Saamna, Sahara News, and Mahanagar, while pursuing legal studies.
My academic pursuit culminated in a Master’s in Law from Bharti Vidyapeeth, Pune. To refine my professional acumen, I apprenticed under the tutelage of legal luminaries, Adv. Shyam Keswani and Adv. Ramrao Adik, imbibing the requisite skills to stand as a formidable advocate in the hallowed halls of justice. Later I embarked on my independent practice.
In 2007, fate beckoned as I received my inaugural solo brief to defend a defendant ensnared in the notorious Telgi fake stamp paper scandal. Subsequently, I undertook the defense of Mr Harivansh Singh, a prominent political figure, further solidifying my reputation. Thereafter, I got the S K Lahoria murder case, the J.K. murder case and the recent one involving the Dhananjay Munde (Minister) case, Maruti Babu Ghare, Shiv Sena issue matter and Vijay Goenka—Indian Express New Group, matters and dealt with many renowned Banks and reputed Companies across India.
